It’s a tough being a Realtor today. I hear stories of former agents who’ve given up their licenses to search for work elsewhere. To be successful in real estate in this climate, you need to be a real Guerrilla. Someone who’s different. Someone like Jim Klinge. Jim is a realtor in San Diego, who marches to a different drum beat.
Armed with his pocket camcorder, he goes out and shoots video of dilapidated vacant houses that are no where near the asking price. He then posts the video on his blog www.bubbleinfo.com which gets about 2000 hits a day.
By exposing these house for what they really are – overpriced, This Realtor becomes more than just another home seller. He becomes real advocate for the home buyer; a watchdog for those who might be taken advantage of again. He is now an expert they can trust and as a result he sells plenty of houses. Whatever it is you do, find ways to be better. Find Ways to offer more value. Find ways to be remarkable. Don’t just be a Realtor, be an Advocate.
